So no progress has been made in decreased my fabric stash but I have been in Wales most of the week and then had to help get my daughter ready for Guide camp. In my mind I was going to make her some shorts to take on camp, but realistically this was not going to happen with only one day to wash clothes and pack ready for departure. Hence a score line of de-stash 0 - purchases 1, but what about purchases 1? I saw some lovely owl fabric online and 'accidently' bought some! Not really sure if they should count as 1 purchase or 3, as I did order 3 fabrics, but only in small craft quantities.
Hope you like the addition to my fabric stash which is on its way from www.ohsewcrafty.co.uk. I have always loved owls since a teenager and my collection began after a guide camp, being a Rainbow leader doesn't really help with this 'addiction'!
Before I attempt to get creative and use some of my fabric stash I have to de-clutter the dumping ground, which once upon a time used to be the dining room. The garden also needs weeding, or attacking with a machete, so as the weather is sunny at present I think the garden needs to be the priority for today....

The Challenge
So where did the idea for this originate? Before our holiday in Weymouth I googled sewing/knitting/craft shops incase the opportunity arose to pop into the odd shop ( I knew I would have internet access once I got there). By chance I came across a sewing shop, but alas it was closed, which is to be expected in the evening, but I had a plan. I could leave the hubby and son at the caravan the following day and return with just my daughter. She has the same outlook as me, to quote her "you can never have too much fabric".
My plan did not go to plan - my hubby decided to tag along to buy rock for his work colleagues (which was a surprise in itself). As we approached the shop he made some comment about why would I need to go in, I couldn't be serious, and then the comment which sewed the seed of this challenge "If you made one thing every week you would have enough fabric already to last at least 20 weeks". My silent reply was "unlikely, I'm sure I have enough to last much longer".
So here I am - how long would it take to reduce my stash of fabric? I am going to try and make something from my existing fabric stash every week and record the impact on the fabric stash. The first project will need to wait until next weekend though as today will be taken up with holiday washing and then re-packing to visit the in-laws for a few days.
